The idyllic municipality Vilafant is located on a high ground and offers a fantastic view at the peak of the Pyrenees and the city of Figueres which is only 3 kilometres away. Its Salvador Dalí Museum annually attracts more than a houndred million visitors to come.
Vilafant borders on Borrassà in the southwest and on Avinyonet de Puigventós in the northeast.
At the beginning of the 17th century, Vilafant was running one of the most important industries of bricks of Girona. The church „Iglesia de San Cipriano“ originates from the 12th century and is one of the best-known sights of the municipality.
Today, Vilafant is a favourable place to live for families which value the proximity to Figueres and prefer a green housing estate. Here, one can find the silence of the village, can profit from big affordable estates and external land, and also the kids have much space to play in the green surroundings.
The opening of the high-speed railway AVE in 2013, connecting Barcelona and Figueres with a railway station in Vilafant, made Vilafant more famous and a much more favourable place of residence. The city centre of Barcelona is only about 50 minutes away from here when taking the train. Other destinations are, apart from Girona (20 minutes), also Madrid and Marseille, as well as Lyon and Toulouse in France.
