The holiday resort Llançà is located on the Costa Brava near the natural park Cap de Creus and only 15km from the Spanish-French border and the border town Portbou. In the year 218 before Christ, the city of „Deciana“ was located here. The origins of Llança itself go back to the 10th century.
Llançà consists of two parts - the main part of the city is grouped around the historic city centre and the town square and also the former fishing port of Llançà by now has become a residential area and a popular holiday residence.
Also a sport harbour is located at Llançà. Here, numerous little cafés and restaurants can be found. Among others, the restaurant „Tres Vents“ is a real inside tip. It attracts its many visitors not only with its huge glass façade and the terrace with a view at the harbour and the mountains, but also with typical catalan food at fair prices.
Not far away from the town, there is a popular quarry which, for example, contains minerals like quartz.
Thanks to its location at the sea and below the Pyrenees with its proximity to France, Llançà has become one of the most popular holiday resorts in which also local still are living. Tourism has also become one of the most important sources of income for Llançà.
